Commitment to People
At Vidrala we constantly strive to ensure that each person, no matter the job they do, is able to fulfil their duties and responsibilities in the best and safest way possible.
From recruiting and inducting new team members, to providing quality training courses and personalised development programmes, we prepare our employees to deal with the challenges they will face both now and in the future. At all levels of the organization, we have implemented the Professional Development Interview, which enables us to ensure our people’s objectives and performance are perfectly aligned to those of the business. Communication is key.
Using multiple initiatives and channels, as well as the most advanced solutions on the market, we encourage all our group companies to ensure continuous communications so that it reaches all business levels.
In addition to conventional top-down communication, in recent years the Group Senior Leadership Team has strengthened its commitment to drive forward two-way and bottom-up communication. Better ways of communicating are driving through business-wise improvements. For example the regular meetings that have been introduced with plant managers across the business has fostered close and direct relationships, allowing us to quickly react quickly and take the initiative on any personnel issues or opportunities.
For Vidrala, safety comes first. We have designed and implemented a Management System that sets out the general principles and guidelines of our entire Health & Safety activity.
Through a programme of audits – mandatories and voluntaries – we go beyond the law requirements by certifying all of our workplaces to the OHSAS 18000 standard, ensuring that our management system is properly implemented and effectively maintained. Our Health & Safety team works with innovative apps and tools in order to detect and assess risks, with the full support of the senior leadership team and particularly the plants’ management teams, with the aim of ensuring that accident rates continue to reduce in each workplace.
