Vidrala certified in accordance with its 2011–2012 GHG emissions inventory declaration

AIALA VIDRIO, S.A., a company dedicated to the manufacture of hollow glass, together with VIDRALA, S.A., the organisation responsible for the design, development, production management and marketing of glass containers manufactured by its six production plants, have obtained the “Declaration of conformity of the greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the years 2011 and 2012”, in accordance with the guidelines of the UNE ISO 14064-1:2006 standard, certified by TÜV Rheinland.
AIALA VIDRIO S.A. has included the following within its GHG inventory:
- Production plant
- Management of product transport to customers
- Transport of main raw materials
- Daily commuting of employees
- Business travel (air – rail)
The emission sources considered in the GHG inventory are:
- Natural gas combustion
- Decarbonation of raw materials
- Electricity consumption
- Fuel combustion for forklifts / transport of containers to customers / transport of raw materials / leased vehicles / employee commuting / business travel
- Fugitive emissions of refrigerants
The achievement of these certifications forms part of the strong commitment of the Vidrala Group to sustainability, aimed at improving productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing processes of its containers.
The ISO 14064 Standard “Greenhouse Gases. Specification with guidance at the organisational level for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals” is an international standard for the voluntary verification of greenhouse gas emissions, whose objective is to provide credibility and assurance to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reports.
